Lilitu Rodac was raised in a small-town Georgia church she would later recognize as a cult. She earned a psychology degree and spent nearly a decade as a substance abuse counselor, trained to spot coercion in everyone but herself. She left the church, her family, and the state, and now writes from Oregon, where she is at work on a memoir. Her essays reach more than seven hundred readers on Substack, where she speaks freely.
