This website does not run analytics, advertising or a comment system.

The essay list and cover pictures on the Writing pages, and the 'Meet Lilly' post and its picture on the About page, come straight from Substack: the list and the post are fetched by this website’s server, and the pictures load in your browser from Substack’s image server.

Some pages offer videos or audio from YouTube, Vimeo or Spotify. A YouTube video shows its preview picture, which your browser fetches from YouTube’s image server; the player itself, and the audio players, load only when you press Play or Listen. When you do, your browser connects to that service and its privacy policy applies.

Subscribing is handled by Substack. The signup form on this website is provided by Substack. Your browser connects to Substack when the form scrolls into view, or when you open the Subscribe page; its privacy policy and terms apply there. The website does not maintain a second subscriber list.

The contact page lists an email address instead of a form. If you write to it, your message and email address are received in a Gmail inbox provided by Google, and are used only to reply to you. This website itself does not receive or store your message.

This website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. AWS processes connection information, such as your IP address, to deliver pages and keep the site secure. The website itself does not keep visitor logs.
